The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), based in Washington, DC, is dedicated to advancing optimal and equitable perinatal outcomes for all people who desire or experience pregnancy. The Society represents over 6,500 members and serves as the voice for clinicians and researchers with expertise in high-risk pregnancy care. Maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) subspecialist physicians comprise our core membership. SMFM members also include physicians in related disciplines, scientists, nurses, genetic counselors, ultrasound technicians, and other clinicians working toward optimal and equitable perinatal outcomes.
The Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society (PACES), a nonprofit organization, is an international group of physicians and allied professionals dedicated to improving the care of children and young adults with cardiac rhythm disturbances. The group's primary mission is to foster high-quality collaborative research and exchange of ideas on arrhythmia topics that are particularly relevant to infants and children, or patients of any age with congenital heart disease. The society will, in addition, strive to represent its members on issues pertaining to education in pediatric electrophysiology and related health care policies.
The North American Fetal Therapy Network is a voluntary association of 56 medical centers in both the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, and Mexico that perform advanced in-utero fetal therapeutic procedures. Physicians at these Fetal Treatment Units practice in both academic and community based environments, and specialize in fields such as maternal-fetal medicine, pediatric surgery, neonatology, pediatric cardiology and fetal ultrasound.
